I was burned by bitter drought.
You drenched me.
I was sliced by hunger's knife.
You fed me.
When desert devils came for me,
you stood in the door and held the line.
I was sullied in my soul.
You bathed me.
I was choking on no hope.
You saved me.
When I had gone both deaf and blind,
you whispered two words against the night:
Everything. Always.
